About Nous

Nous is an invite-only iPhone app for nights out. Members join through an invite from another member, then use the app to find events at local venues and get in at the door with a pass.

How it works

  1. Get an invite. A member shares an invite code, or invites you in person at an event.
  2. Sign up with your phone number. Enter your U.S. mobile number in the app and we text you a one-time code to sign in. There are no passwords.
  3. Verify your age. Nous is for adults 18 and older. A quick ID check, run by Stripe Identity, confirms it.
  4. Go out. Pick the scenes you’re into, request a pass for an event, and show it at the door.

Text messages

Nous sends two kinds of text message, and nothing else:

  • Sign-in codes, only when you request one: “Nous code: 123456. Never share it. Nous will never ask for it.”
  • Invites: one text with an invite link, sent when a member you’re with invites you in person at an event and enters the number you give them.

No marketing or promotional texts. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help.

You agree to sign-in texts on the sign-up screen in the app, before any code is sent:

The Nous sign-up screen: a U.S. phone number field, and above the Send code button the text: By tapping Send code, you agree to get a one-time sign-in code by text. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See our Terms and Privacy Policy.

The full SMS terms are in our Terms of Service, and how we handle your number is in our Privacy Policy.
